New Saddles

We have a pretty nice selection of new saddles in the store like this new San Marco Rolls Forato. They look so much better in person! More San Marco saddles here.
Not that Brooks has enough saddles in their line, but they've upped their models with new colors like this Turquoise Colt and new B17s in Apple Green, Orange, and Electric Blue. They've also released more models with the Imperial cut-out option. The rest of the collection here!

If you're in the area, come check them out!

Sunny Saturday

The weather during the ride into work did not look very promising to the racers of this year's MMI. But the clouds cleared up and with all the snow melted, it actually turned out to be nice day. Ben's was one of the stops during the race with a tire toss to clear the checkpoint. For some, it took almost a dozen tries to sink one in.

On another note, a customer rolled in with a rare treat. This is probably the first Jack Taylor I've come into contact with. The pinstriped boxes gave it away immediately. It's one gorgeous bike and in such great condition!

Well, off to check out the rest of the race. Good luck to you all and have a great weekend!

New Milwaukee Road Bike - Part 2

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "New Milwaukee Road Bike!":

Do you have any more close up photos of the bikes. I'm interested in seeing how the black decals look up close with the atomic orange color. The frame and geometry was well thought out. This is a frame that most people should be riding. Not racing. Not touring. Just a good around bike.

~Thanks Anon!
Here are a couple more shots for you.

NEW! SKS Longboard Fenders

Just in! SKS Longboard fenders. The most claimed coverage of any fenders available. Most fender backs reach about 8" off the ground; the SKS Longboards come in at 1.5"! Drastically cut down front wheel spray. Get them here.

Prolly's MBC Road Frame

This is bringing back all sorts of memories of my first road bike; a pink splatter painted Diamondback. It also reminds me a little bit of a Trek's 2300 Carbon Three Tube bike I used to wrench on at my old bike shop. Oh the good ol' days.
There are already a few of these on the road and some in production at the moment. I'll have some more pics soon! Keep posted on Mr. Watson's site on updates of his build.

It's getting a bit toasty here in Milwaukee and I'm pretty excited to see people on their bikes again!

Big Mammoth

We just got some pretty burly rims in. Say hello to the Big Mammoth!

26" 32 hole and eyeletted, check out that cross-section! If you're looking into an affordable wheel build, try these rims out. Don't forget to take advantage of our free wheel build labor!

Here's the Big Mammoth built with a Surly hub for fellow Milwaukee polo player Drew. These rims were made in the USA!

New Layout

40 Degrees yesterday, snow today, and I just took apart my snow bike! Even though it doesn't seem like it, Spring is creeping up. If you've ever been in a bike shop on a sunny day in the summer, you understand how hectic it can get. So save yourself (as well as your fellow mechanic) a headache and bring in your bike for a tune-up now! Turn around time is about a day or two (compared to two weeks in the height of the season).
Regardless if you need any repairs or not, come by and check out the shop. We've been busy moving things and displaying a ton of product. While your at it, make sure you hassle Brett, Ben's Cycle's newest edition. Just joking Brett, he's a great guy and has a ton of experience with bike fittings and other related athletic performance analysis.

He also fronted the development of Saturn Cycling and Quark Women Cycling teams for a couple of years. His official title is 'Human Movement Scientist.' So if you want to get professionally fitted or even want to know what type of running shoe to get, he's the guy to go to.

Plus check out the apparel sale we have going on in our Pro Shop (the side with the parking lot)! Drop by, say hello, and check out the new layout!

Bill and Paul

Bill Nye the Science Guy says "Get rowdy on your bike." No, he really didn't say that but the dude likes to ride and that is pretty sweet in my book. Anyways, it's taking some time to catch up on things here after the little adventure Jim and I took out to NAHBS in Austin (a summary soon). But in the meantime, here's a little gem I saw at the show...

Paul Components Dual Brake Lever! Basically it is a lever that can activate both front and rear brakes. Tamie explained to me that it was designed for people that may not have the ability to use both hands. I'm sure it will work really well in bike polo. Pretty cool design and if I'm not mistaken, it can be switched from short or long pull (not 100% on that). They are opted to be released soon so we'll let you know when they arrive. Keep an eye out!
